Our first video conference!

Bonjour,

We have the go ahead to have our first Zoom meeting! We will start with one drop in session this Friday at 10am, I’m hoping to keep it to 30 minutes or less. No worries if you can’t make this one, there will be other opportunities. Your child is not obligated to participate, this is a choice up to them and to you. Please note that this would count towards your child’s French learning time for the day and you could therefore eliminate their journal entry.

Please have a chat with your child in advance, some things to prepare them for:

  • Remember that this is a classroom meeting, it is expected that students participate as they would in a discussion at school
  • There will be lots of listening and only a short time to share
  • Students will speak in French
  • Students should participate independently but a parent must be in the room
  • I will keep everyone muted until it’s their time to share, we will have a chance to unmute everyone at the end to say goodbye 🙂

To be ready for our meeting, please be prepared to share some of your at home learning, you’ll only have about 1 minute. It might be:

  • A good book you’ve read and why you liked it.
  • Some art or a project you’ve made and why or how you made it.

I’m sure most of you have used Zoom by now. I will send out an email with the link to the meeting, there is no need to create an account but you will need to install the app in advance, click on the link and it will prompt you to do so. Please do not share the meeting link.

Parents please review this policy before Friday:  https://zoom.us/docs/en-us/childrens-privacy.html

If you are in need of technology to engage in online learning opportunities, please let myself or Mr. Johnson know.

I am soooo looking forward to seeing everybody!
